Hey what the heck? Thanks for telling me about Winston’s guys, geez, these NYC via Virginia dudes been around since 2015 and I hadn’t heard of em. They do this drum and guitar duo Eddie Hinton/Otis Redding rock ‘n’ soul bit that sounds like it come outta Fame Studios.
Do check out their EPs Black Dust and Turpentine on bandcamp, and keep an eye out for their next release out later this year. The above is one single available. The other “Enough” can be found over on Brooklyn Vegan.
From the press release:
“Winstons is a garage-soul duo out of Virginia, residing in Brooklyn. They do love songs, blue songs, and dance songs with drums, guitar, harmonies, and a harmonica. Their live show is raw and earnest, with a dynamic juxtaposing devotion and depravity. Their sound has drawn comparisons to Screaming’ Jay Hawkins and The Cramps. They self-released two EPs in 2015.”
