I’m so late on this, but my buddies over at Hearth Music just reminded me that Anna & Elizabeth, an Appalachian duo who get many of their songs exploring archives and breathing them back to life, are here in Seattle tonight at The Triple Door.
These ladies brought a crankie (hand-made old-fashioned story scrolls that accompany their old ballads) to NPR’s Tiny Desk. That’s folk right there.
Do not miss there rendition (on guitar) of Doc Boggs‘ “Little Black Train.” Hopefully they’ll play it tonight, Eli West and Margaret Glaspy support.
